Ferry times and rates
A double-decker ferry leaves from Den Helder every hour. The crossing lasts under half an hour; bookings are not possible and not necessary. Crossings on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday offer reduced fares.
Fares (pedestrian) only € 2,50 for a return ticket. Motorcar (incl. max. 9 occupants) € 25,00 for a return ticket on Tuesday, Wednesday/Thursday and € 36,50 for a return ticket on Friday through Monday. The ferry leaves Texel on the hour and Den Helder on the half hour; the first boat to Texel leaves at 6:00 a.m. on weekdays and the last boat leaves from Den Helder at 9:30 p.m.


Odd traveltimes:
On Sundays and special holidays the first ferry leaves 1 hour later between April 1st until September, 30th.
• On Sundays and special holidays the first ferry leaves 2 hours later between October 1st until March 31st.
• On December, 31st the departure time of the ferry lapses at 9 pm and at 9.30 pm. .

Public transport: Travel information
Texelhopper2When you travel with Texelhopper, you can choose between the fixed bus route (line 28) or the smaller buses that should be reserved. Line 28 leaves once every hour and follows a fixed route.
Line 28 rides onto the boat and takes you from Den Helder to Texel. If you are traveling to Den Burg or De Koog, then you can continue on with bus line 28 when it reaches the island. All other destinations can be reached with the Texelhopper mini-buses. Your mini-bus will be waiting for you as you leave the boat on the right side.

The Texel Parking Sticker was introduced on 1 January 2012. This sticker enables you to park in the paid parking areas on Texel for an entire year (from 1 January till 31 December 2012). The sticker costs just € 15,- and can be purchased at Texel Tourist Information Office (VVV), the town hall and at Van der Linde bicycle shop in De Cocksdorp.
You don’t want the parking sticker? No problem, you can also pay at the parking meter.



By Car

Take the ferry from Den Helder to Texel. On arrival, head for Den Burg. At side road no. 10, turn right to De Cocksdorp. At De Cocksdorp, the road bends to the left (do NOT take the turning to De Cocksdorp (34) to the right). At the following intersection (no. 35), turn right(Langeveldstraat).
